On Behalf of Hybrid Martial Arts: Now there can be no Excuses! Jeet Kune Do Classes

Jun Fan / Jeet Kune Do Jeet Kune Do (The Way of The Intercepting Fist) was developed by Bruce Lee.
Its principles and techniques form a comprehensive fighting system compatible within each persons strengths and limitations. Lee built his style from the best of wing chun, boxing, fencing, muay thai, submission grappling, and escrima, making JKD the original mixed martial art. Lee believed that no martial arts style is more important than the individual. Students must be allowed to create their own “style” within the JKD system that best fits their mental and physical attributes. But simple, direct and efficient techniques are the fundamental criterion for all students to follow.

Wing Chun Kung Fu (Southern Shaolin) This quite simply is one of the last Shaolin Kung Fu Styles developed to produce a well rounded fighter in 3 to 5 years compared to the 15-20 years needed to master a complete animal system in the Shaolin Temple, China; Designed for the individual that would not need to use power to reach their objective. Speed, Directness, and Deflection added to constant crashing pressure correctly describes the attributes of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Largely based on Defending the "center line" running throught the vertical axis of a person. Notable Artists that were trained in this system include: Yip Man, Bruce Lee, William Cheung, Moy Yat, and has experienced a large following since the system seems to enhance many views that are often not as emphasized in other arts. Notes on the style: features high horse, evasive footwork, impressive combo attack and single direct attacks, kicks are geared to break bones and specialize in blitz attacks.

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) The National Art of Thailand, Muay Thai is often referred to as"The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hand, feet, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art. A master practitioner of Muay Thai thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight points of contact, as opposed to the four points (fists, feet) in many other forms of martial arts.
This particular art form places an emphasis on the physical conditioning and cardiovascular benefits required to practice Thai Boxing.

Maphilindo Silat (Indonesian, Malaysian, Filipino) Maphilindo is the art that resulted from the blending of Malaysian Bersilat, Filipino Kuntaw Silat, and Indonesian Pentjak Silat by Master Guru Dan Inosanto.

Guru Dan Inosanto Martial Legacy in Miami, FL Maphilindo utilizes these Silat arts by blending their tactical approach to their quick hand entries, off balancing the opponent through the use of levers, close quarter punches, low line kicks, sweeps, and throws.

Filipino Kali Escrima Filipino Kali, Escrima, Pangamut, Panatuken:
The ancient native art of the Filipino Islands, which promotes the understanding of the use of weaponry as a means of developing superior body mechanics for empty hand fighting.  Drills and techniques taught in a non-restrictive manner allow students to enhance their natural attributes, and improve their sense of timing, speed, agility, awareness, balance and confidence.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Helio Gracie, Samurai Warrior Art) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially in ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position from which to force an attacker to submit. The system is based a modified version of traditional Japanese Jujutsu called "Jiu-do" which is based on the idea of soft overcoming the hard. In other words, smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique to defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant. BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition.
